The
starting point for this sweater was the ChicKnits Lo Tech Sweat pattern.
It's a basic raglan shape in stockinette stitch. The original sweater
is tailored best to fit the female form, so I modified it a bit to make
a more man-friendly sweater.
Instead of a ribbed button band, I created an applied I-cord that will ultimately be the foundation for a nice, strong zipper. I also changed the collar detail to be just a simple ribbed collar that matches the ribbing at the bottom of the sweater. Because my dad will be the ultimate user of the sweater and I didn't want a lot of things that could catch on machinery, I eliminated the pockets completely. If making this sweater for a man, I would highly recommend adding an inch or two to the sleeves. |
