Is there anything nicer to see than your man in a sweater knit with your own hands? How about one knit with your own hands that you also feel great about in terms of both the construction and assembly?

I love this sweater and given that I've seen John wear it more than once, I think it's fair to say that it's also a man-pleasing design, especially when combined with a colorway that has man-appeal.

From a difficulty perspective, this is a great first sweater. There's nothing tricky about either the knitting or the assembly. Only basic knitting techniques are required and I found no errors in the pattern for the medium size that I made for John. The yardages required for the project were pretty much dead-on and definitely include enough extra to make sure you can swatch. (As an aside, the Shinano is a very nice yarn for this project. It's texture makes it a little more rustic an manly looking).

The only issues I have with this sweater are specific to the man I made the sweater for. If I were to do this pattern again, I would probably do a little discrete shaping and reduce some of the width at the waist and hip area to proportion it better with him.
