This project comes from tthe Winter 2005 issue of Interweave Knits. I susbstituted the suggested yarn with Elsebeth Lavold's Silky Wool, which lacks the springiness of the merino, but has a sophisticated drape and a more subtle tweedy heathered quality. That pleat has to be blocked agressively in this yarn for it to do what it is supposed to do. Also, treat the phrase "bracelet length" sleeves with a grain of salt. Overall though, the pattern was well written and easy to follow, at least for the smallest size (meant to fit a 36" bust). The rest of my notes on this project can be found in the archives. |
