This
sweater is a loose, bulky sweater with set-in sleeves. I modified their
instructions in several areas to better suit John. First of all, they knit
the collar flat and then joined. I joined both shoulders and then picked
up the stitches in the round and knitted it in the round to eliminate a
side seam in the collar that would have been irritating. They also seamed
the body of the sweater and the sleeves before inserting the sleeves. I
attached the sleeve tops first and then seamed everything up because I thought
the instructions would have made it harder than it needed to be to insert
the sleeves in a neat manner. I loved working with the Natural Fleece --
it is soft and slides easily through your fingers when worked with. John
liked it too when he put it on. It's seriously heavy stuff -- John figures
he could wear it and a T-shirt and go out in 40-50 degree weather. My only
complaint about the sweater pattern is that the collar is a little loose
and it flops a little bit. John has it rolled back on itself a little bit
here instead of standing up to its full height.
