The (basic) pattern for these socks is the Crusoe pattern at Knitty. It's been rather modified because I liked the pattern, but didn't think the 6 st/inch gauge was good for the recommended Koigu, in terms of long term durability. I I used the 2 circular needle method on size 1's and got closer to 8 st/inch and 8 rows/inch and used 64 stitches around in the pattern because the stranded stitch doesn't leave much give for ankles to get through. I have a 9 inch foot (US woman's size 8) and had plenty of yarn left over from the two skeins that I did this project out of.
