This
little tank top is a great project -- if you re-do the shaping. Otherwise,
it ends up too loose, even at gauge -- the picture in the book makes it
look like a shaped garment, but the diagram should have clued me in that
it was not going to be the fitted little top I was looking for. It is possible
that leaving out the Brilla stripes reduced the structural integrity of
this top, so some of the problems with it might be my fault. The St. Tropez
yarn makes a neat fabric, but ripping it out is a nightmare, so mistakes
are very difficult to fix.
I am not quite sure what to do with this project to make it more wearable. I think it likely that I will need to do some crochet at the next line to shore it up a little bit Of all the patterns that came out of this book (Filatura di Crossa Spring/Summer 2002) this is the only one I would not recommend wholeheartedly. |
