JOY arrived in the mail today, courtesy of Rob & Matt at Threadbear; I was able to achieve gauge with my first try on size 8's - aluminum straight needles. I am truly loving knitting with this and I think the color will be awesome; perhaps there are TWO Audreys in my future.

Updated: As a color comparison, here's a photo of the yarn from the Rowan site:

OK, I give in! I had started knitting Audrey on my own a few weeks ago not using Calmer because none of my LYS are carrying it. All the talk about Calmer has me wanting to touch the stuff! I just ordered some in Joy!
Posted by: Cruz at April 9, 2004 09:33 PMIt really has a remarkably different 'feel' to it that I think I've fallen in LOVE with. JOY is a gorgeous color and in low light looks like a dark gray. Works for me! I am anxious to try more Calmer (are you listening, Threadbear?) in a lighter color.
Posted by: JanetR at April 9, 2004 11:33 PMIt is so difficult for me to order yarns sight unseen! On the other hand, shopping for yarn in a shop is such a fun tactile and visual treat. What does it look like in bright light?
Posted by: Cruz at April 11, 2004 09:05 AMIn daylight, it definitely looks purple. Here's a link to the photo that Rob & Matt (Threadbear) sent me:
Posted by: JanetR at April 11, 2004 10:01 AMWow, thanks! What a difference from the little pic on the Rowan site. So, it's not that there is a problem with my computer...

Posted by: Cruz at April 11, 2004 01:55 PMI'm probably more delighted with the way it knits and feels than with the color! (heehee)
I mainly chose the final color because of the color name: "Joy"; normally, I'd have chosen Slosh but couldn't bring myself to do it.
