Oh What A Beautiful Morning!

I am just thrilled to pieces! My Calmer finally arrived at my doorstep yesterday, and I was more excited about the color Pool than I had even imagined I would be. It has more greeny teal in it than I had thought (although it looks more blue in the photo), and I love it already. It should look lovely with my pale skin and red hair (I hope!). Yippee! I swatched it last night and got gauge using Susan Bates Quicksilver US#8s.

My little piece of Audrey wanted a morning out in the sun today, now that we are finally having some spring weather here in Wisconsin, so I took her out to sun on a rock by my growing irises and grass. She sighed and was happy, until I told her that she couldn't be left outside on her own... Isn't she pretty?

It is a happy day for me and my Audrey!

Yay! Another Tiffany's blue girl(I'm using Pool, too)! It will be fun to see how they look on us because I am dark complected with dark hair. :-)

Hey heathre:

what type/size needles did you use to get your swatch, and did you have any difficulties? THANKS!

JennyW:

The Susan Bates Quicksilver needles I used (size US 8, 5.00 mm) are some sort of plastic-covered metal, I think (it's what they feel and look like, anyway, but the packaging doesn't have composition listed), and the Calmer glides across them beautifully, in my opinion. They are fairly inexpensive, too, which is always a bonus! I was going to try bamboo next, but I really enjoyed the feel of the yarn on the smooth plastic coating, so I decided to stop while I was ahead. My row tension is a bit short, but that is normal for me, and it works okay when knitting to a specified measurement since I can make adjustments at that point.

Good luck with your own swatching!

THANKS Heathre!

It's good to know I'm not the only one with issues with row gauge, sometimes I have the darndest time. So far I have done okay with stitch gauge with bamboo US 7s, but my row gauge is off. Maybe I should try the quicksilver... hmmmm....
