The neck edge

This is how my neck edge looks, in coral.

To get the neck edging the right lenght seems to be a smallish problem. At least for me. I thought I had measured it right. I sew it in place, and it was waaaaay too long. I opened all the small stitches, frogged three pattern lenghts, sew it in place, tested, still too long, two more pattern lenghts frogged - now it seems to be the right lenght, with 26 pattern lenghts for size S.

I have still to fasten all yarn ends and to block the whole sweater once more. But it looks so promising...

Nobody at home right now except me, so you have to wait until tomorrow for a picture of me wearing it.

OOooh La la!!! You give me reason to carry on! I love that color and you did a really FABULOUS job on the lace and sewing.

DO share your sewing secrets with us??

Also, your ribbing looks so beautiful - what needles (manufacturer and size) did you use for the body of your Audrey?

Impeccable work! The lace border is stunning, and I love this photo because it shows it so much better than in the mag. Brava!

Wow! It really looks great. Yes, yes, share your sewing techniques because it really looks great. That part sounds scary as I'd prefer to actually just knit it on if there is a way! Congrats.

Thank you for all the compliments! You make me blush.

I have used Aero 4,5 mm needles.

The sewing in itself was not difficult. I don't know what the kind of stich is called in English, so you'll have a hmm.. sort of explanation instead. I kept the right side of the edging against the right side of the sweater, like when you use backstiches. I then sew with the needle through a knitted stich in the sweater and on in the edging, pulled the yarn through, let it go over the edge of the knitted pieces and again through the next two knitted stiches. When finished and blocked will the lower edge of the edging and the upper edge of the sweater lie against each other, and the stiches will form a neat line of vertical stiches on the right side, that will blend in with the pattern and make it almost invisible. Be sure to stich into every knitted stich on the sweater side, or the bind off stiches can be visible.
