Let's start with a sleeve...

Oops! My selvedges are showing...

I've started my Audrey! I'm using Calmer in "Amour" [oh la laaaaaaaaaa!] and size 4.5mm Addi Turbo circs. Cast-on method I decided to use: Long tail cast-on, otherwise known as Old Faithful. I tried the tubular cast-on (another favorite of mine for lightweight, non-bulky yarns), but quickly ripped it out when I saw how wonky it looked on the stretchy yarn that is Calmer. The cable cast-on, another favorite, didn't provide enough elasticity for the ribbing. So I went with Old Faithful.

Selvedges (stitches that are going to be hidden in the seam) are all in stockinette stitch. I plan on seaming Audrey using mattress stitch, and I find stockinette stitch selvedges to work best for me when I seam using mattress stitch. [Look, Ma! No holes!]

Thus far, I am ROLLING on this project. Calmer is the Most Luxurious Yarn, Ever. I'm almost dreading the moment when I'll actually finish knitting all the pieces and have to start seaming. But, please note that I wrote "almost dreading"...a consoling thought is that after I finish knitting and seaming, I'll get to WEAR Calmer. Say it with me now, friends: "Oh la laaaaaaaaaaaaa!" "Oh la laaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

That's a great color and congrats on your progress! I can't wait to see it finished!

Welcome, Becky's Audrey! I have to admit, I am really enjoying knitting with the Calmer now, too. At first, I was struggling, but my Audrey has finally given in to me. Or is it the other way around? Hmmmm...

I noticed from your personal blog that you started with a sleeve. What a brilliant idea. I think that's how I'm going to get mine rolling, too! That will allow me to put the decreasing issue aside for a bit and just get the project started.

Are you adding stitches to produce the selvege in sockinette? Will that make your sweater larger than intended?

No, I didn't add extra stitches. I just disregarded the pattern instructions and knit the edge stitches in stockinette. They're going to be hidden in a seam anyway. And, I'm doing my increases one stitch in from the edge. If you look at the photo you can see the first increase peeking at us.

I never make my knits larger. If anything, I have to recalculate to make them a bit smaller. Hehe. I'm not doing this for Audrey, though. It's form-fitting and I think the ribbing will ensure a good fit.
