Newbie Knit-alonger!

Hello all! I just joined the Audrey Knit-along and thought I ought to say hello.

I hadn't thought about making Audrey until I saw Becky's sleeve photo the other day on her blog, and her description of how wonderful Calmer is. Impressionable girl that I am, I ordered me up some Calmer, in "Pool." I have a pale complexion, dark green eyes, and dark reddish blonde hair, and all shades of teal and turquoise are flattering for me.

When my Pool Calmer arrived, I fell immediately in love. I swatched, got gauge with my 4.5mm Addi turbos, and started the back. And here it is:

I've got the decreases done, and have started the increases.

I read through most of the back posts on this knit-along blog and see that there's been a lot of interesting discussion about doing the decreases and increases. I'm doing mine according to the pattern (well, how I interpret the pattern at any rate), and I'm fine with the way they look.

But then, I'm famous for not caring about details. :-)

But now I'm dreaming about what I'm gonna wear Audrey with. My first thought -- black tailored trousers. But then I thought -- ooh! White pants! And then . . . khakis!

And as it happens, I have a gorgeous black leather miniskirt hanging in my closet, a relic from my younger days. I've been on a diet since the beginning of the year and I betcha I could fit into it nicely again. Audrey with a leather miniskirt! And sexy black pumps.

Of course, there is the problem of sitting down in the leather miniskirt. Not easily accomplished. But one must sacrifice comfort for glamour, n'est-ce pas?

Wendy, I think you have interpreted the increases and decreases the same way as I, not trying to tell you I am right, but it feels comforting to see other people reading the pattern the same way.

Hi Wendy,

I'm so silly, I thought you were knitting in color "calmer" too but now I see it is "pool." And it is a great color for you, I think! Can't wait to see you model the finished project!

Hi Wendy!

I must admit, I first thought someone had stolen my Audrey and posted it online for me, as that is exactly where I am on my second body piece of Audrey, also knit in Pool. It looks great! It is great to see another bluey-green-toned Audrey. I have received many compliments on my color choice as I have knit here and there in public, so I am excited to someday finish it and wear it with my own pale complexion, green eyes, and strawberry-blond hair. We might end up being twins! Enjoy being part of the knitalong...

Heathre, maybe you and I need to get together for an Audrey Photo Shoot when we're done! ;-)

I want in on the Pool Photo Shoot. :-) I am working on Audrey in Pool, too, but I'm doing the "tiffany" decreases/increases so mine will be a bit different. Good color choice, Wendy and Heathre. :-)

How fun to see you here, Wendy! I did it on purpose, you know. 'Cause I wanted you here at the blog, and all ;-)

Black miniskirt: Va-va-voom! Will we see a vintage Vespa in your finished photo, too?
