Here she comes, my Audrey is done ....

... but I'm not an Audrey at all, but much rather a Sophia !! While my - well - "upper balcony" (as Wendy called it in here blog - nice expression!) usually doesn't bother me at all, in this sweater it looks a lot more than there really is !! Do you think I can go to work wearing this sweater ??!!??
Anyway, the yarn was a real pleasure to work with, the instructions were well written and easy to follow and I got gauge the first try. I think there will be more Rowan designs for me in the future.
I also just looooved the idea of knitting along with others and seeing everybody elses progress, reading questions and answers and beeing part of the party !!
Thanks a lot to the hosts, I will keep on checking in here and reading about all the other Audreys!
Hey, any more Sophias out there ?!?
Greeetings from Germany !
That is one gorgeous sweater you have there!! You have done a magnificant job!
Tell me is the colour that you used Jewel?? It is just stunning!

Yes, the color is "Jewel" and I picked up the very last skeins at my LYS.
Oh, about the - balcony - Wendy said ... "front porch" ... I don't want to cite her wrong ! But I had some trouble coming up with the right expression as I'm not native English-speaking. But I guess you get the picture ?
Congratulations Ursula, your sweater looks great. I love the colour. Of course you can wear it at work, we do live in Europe and not in the ...hem... prude US, don't we? :-)))
Greetings to Germany from Germany.
Ursula, "balcony" works just as well as "front porch!" ;-)
And if you've got it, flaunt it!
Your Audrey is stunning and you look lovely wearing it!
Posted by: Wendy at May 11, 2004 05:34 AMIt really suits you. I think you need curves to wear it. The neck band sits really well.
Wear it with pride. Your colleagues will be very jealous
Posted by: Lindsay Boothman at May 11, 2004 07:09 AMIt looks absolutely awesome! I liked the term balcony anyway!
Posted by: Christine at May 11, 2004 07:57 AMWonderful, absolutely wonderful! If your work don't require you to wear very formal clothing, it will be absolutely great.
Posted by: Maud at May 11, 2004 08:05 AMBeautiful! It really looks wonderful on you. Definately wear it to work, and to play!
Posted by: Shelby at May 11, 2004 08:20 AMWOW! That looks great! I don't think it looks inappropriate at all, so wear that baby to work! Hope mine turns out as well as yours!
Posted by: sarah b. at May 11, 2004 08:54 AMLooks GREAT on you! Unfortunately, I have a very small balcony. Hopefully Audrey will emphasize the little I do have! Beautiful color, too, btw.
Posted by: Karen Heinig at May 11, 2004 09:25 AMYou look gorgeous! What a beautiful finish! You definitely selected the perfect color.
Happy Audrey To You!

Posted by: Becky at May 11, 2004 12:16 PMUrsula - you did a wonderful job! Wear it to work and everywhere with pride!
I'm doing my Audrey in Pool and have just started. I especially love the way the neckline fits you. Did you make it according to directions or did you take some of the repeats out?
Posted by: Michelle B at May 11, 2004 12:18 PMYou look lovely, Ursula! The colour really suits you. Fantastic!
Posted by: Anne at May 11, 2004 12:36 PMJust lovely. The neckline is especially nicely done & it frames you beautifully. I hope my efforts turn out to be half as nice. I'm gathering hope that my petite busom may be enhanced by this pattern!
Posted by: Samina at May 11, 2004 02:03 PMUrsula, you are inspiring me to want to knit an Audrey. It looks fabulous on you.
Posted by: Sheri at May 12, 2004 10:59 AMOh Ursula, your Audrey turned out so beautiful and professional looking! I am a little afraid to start mine, this will be my first sweater I've ever made! But seeing how lovely you look in yours, makes me ready to begin working on mine! Just gorgeous! Wish me luck!!
Sincerely, Carol
If only I knew how to wolf-whistle by e-mail ! That is a very Sophia sweater - and absolutely gorgeous, so feminine ! And I love the colour. Until I decided I needed a pale Audrey I might well have chosen this myself. Well done !
Posted by: Heather at May 12, 2004 06:04 PMHi Ursula
You and Audrey look wonderful together. You are a wonderful inspiration.
I am just back from shopping, well, actually I had to go and exchange something. Any excuse to shop will do! I took my Audrey knitting with me and went looking for a skirt. I did not find anything :( I had to be back home in time to get my girl from school. Maybe I can persuade the husband to come skirt shopping with me. He actually likes shopping. He usually has more stamina than me. Try this, try that.. to the point where I think, stop I am not a dress up doll. I keep telling husband to look for a digital camera. He is still waiting to find the perfect one at a good price.
Ursula, you really made me want to knit faster.
What are you doing now?
Happy knitting.
Karin
this shows your figure off very nicely & I think you should definitely wear Audry to work! The color is great! congratulations on your beautiful knitting.
