It's a finished Audrey in Amour!

Amour is very red...a very warm red. I think I might have preferred something a little tiny bit more pink, but ah well, I love this sweater anyway! I started on September 1st and finished September 21st, mostly because I knitted for 5 hours each way to and from Toronto. Good thing because now I can wear this before it gets too cold!
I knit 19 repeats originally but read through a lot of these entries (so helpful!!!) and decided to rip back to 18 repeats. I tried seaming the neckline a whole bunch of different ways to get the look I wanted. It think it turned out quite successfully and would love to make something else in Calmer. Posted by Felicia at September 24, 2004 11:43 AMBeautiful! I like Amour even more than the Coral I chose for my Audrey!
Posted by: Maud at September 24, 2004 02:46 PMBeautiful job, and the color looks lovely and warm on you!

Your Audrey in Amour is beautiful on you! Really!
So, what was your method of seaming in the lace?
Wow, very nicely done. Did you follow the sleeve directions or make them a bit longer?
Posted by: Andrea at September 27, 2004 09:08 AMThanks for the lovely comments, everybody!
Kate: I seamed the lace to the body using overcast stitches, through the lower set of eyelets and picking up the far side of the bound-off stitches... this way the front side of the bound-off stitches would provide that little ridge all the way around the collar. I don't know if this was the "correct way" to do it, but since the instructions were pretty vague I figured it was up to me to decide!
Andrea: I did follow the sleeve directions! And I blocked them to the instructed size! But I'm pretty petite to begin with so I probably should have adjusted the sleeve length. Also, I made the second-smallest size rather than the smallest size and now I'm finding the sweater a little big which is likely why the sleeves are long. Contemplating making another one in the smaller size.... hmm, but so many other things to knit first! =)
Felicia,
Thanks. I'll have to research the overcast sts...never heard of them before.
Again, your Audrey is lovely!
I'm so very partial to this color. [Hee!] Your darts are very beautifully rendered and the neckband is the perfect width. Looks gorgeous!
