Yesterday I got my act together and made sure that everyone I have a record of finishing in the last month or so got a label posted to them. I know this took me a long time. It wasn't intended that way, and I hope that Felicia, Karen, Johnanne (your label is coming from Becky), Christine, Andrea, Martha and Ann don't think that I've intentionally slighted them. Anyone who knows me (and my family) understands that I have a genetic pre-disposition to avoid post offices. I'm still in therapy for it and getting better, but I appreciate everyone's patience.
Here's an update the map (someday I should calculate the electoral college score for Audrey) for the US:
create your own personalized map of the USA
And now they have a map for Canada!
create your own personalized map of Canada
And a better one for Europe:
create your personalized map of europe
And finally, here's the whole world of Audrey:
create your own visited country map
A big congratulations to Felicia (British Columbia), Karen (Ontario), Johanne (England), Christine (New Jersey), Andrea (Maryland), Martha (Florida), and Ann (Connecticut) Your labels hit the open road yesterday. Here's the overall tally:
Alabama 1
California 5
Colorado 1
Connecticut 2
Florida 1
Illinois 1
Kentucky 1
Maryland 2
Massachusetts 1
New Jersey 2
New York 1
Ohio 2
Oregon 1
Texas 2
Utah 1
Virginia 1
Canada 2
England 3
Finland 1
France 1
Germany 2
Japan 1
That's a total of 36 Audreys that are gracing the world. How cool is that?
And for anyone who wonders what is up with my sweater... well, I need to rip that collar off, remove one of the repeats and sew it back on again. With all the new winter projects I want to start, Audrey has taken a bit of a backburner to other things. Once I get most of my Christimas knitting out of the way, she'll probably make it back into the rotation. Especially since I'll probably be inspired by the new folks who have joined up lately!
Posted by Theresa at November 20, 2004 12:20 PMThanks a lot, Theresa! The maps look great and we all really appreciate the time and hassle that it takes to distribute the labels (especially for one with crippling Postal Avoidance Syndrome -- we're so proud of you!). I can't wait to receive mine and sew it in.
Good luck with your Christmas knitting and your Audrey.
Posted by: Martha at November 21, 2004 06:19 AMI noticed something that is quite annoying - on the european map those two tiny islands are not part of finland:) Saaremaa and Hiiumaa are part of Estonia.
Posted by: katie at November 21, 2004 10:19 AMThanks, Theresa! I'm planning to wear Audrey to my 20th high school reunion this weekend, with a leather skirt and black boots. I can show everyone I "made something" of myself!
Posted by: Andrea at November 22, 2004 12:52 PMThanks Theresa! I received my little pink "Audrey" label in the mail just yesterday. Fabulous! I appreciate the lovely knit-along you guys have hosted!
