Neckband blocking?

Howdy everyone! I have seamed my Audrey and am now working on the neckband - I'm probably going to knit around 18 pattern repeats, pin it to the body, and see how it looks before seaming. I can't tell you how grateful I am to read all your entries with info on the neckband - it's going to save me a lot of grief, I can tell! But I've been looking to see if anyone has blocked their neckband, and haven't read anything about it - so I am wondering what y'all did. To block or not to block... the neckband (before attaching it to the body)? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

PS I'm not planning on blocking the body - I tried it on the other day and it looks good as is, I think...

I would agree with you on not blocking the body... I did block mine to the measurements in the pattern and it ended up being too loose on me. Plus the ribbing lost a lot of its elasticity. I know, I know, you're not supposed to block ribbing! But the stitches did look a lot nicer after blocking! =)

I didn't block any of it. I think that the acrylic content of the yarn makes it ill-suited for steam blocking, that's for sure. And you really do want it a bit stretched when you wear it, so it's better without blocking. Good luck!!

Hello,

I did block my neckband, which I think helped. I also did block the body. I wet it and laid it out to dry... and the ribbing looked much neater to me.

That's my two cents, for what it's worth.
