Canyon Flower

I wish I knew what this spectacular flower was. It was a lone bloom on a roadside overlook area off of Waimea Canyon Road. If you know what this flower is, please leave me a comment and let me know! Photo taken using macro mode on the afternoon of October 5, 2006.

It appears to be one of the Passion flowers. Most likely Passiflora foetida.

Here in Arkansas, we call those Maypops. They grow wild along highways and on fences. They're also called Passion Flowers, but only when they're growing in somebody's garden. haha
