View from the End of the Trail

This isn't the literal end of the trail, but it was the point at which we had to turn back, given the remaining daylight and the challenging terrain. This picture was taken just past the first mile marker and I think we are about halfway down the canyon. It is right about this place that the trail descends mostly into a good deal more lush greenery. The view here was definitely worth the hike as looking up provided a unique view of the canyon.
