Wispy Red Flower on Kukui Trail

This wispy flower jumped out at me as we descended along the trail. Its almost feathery quality made it difficult to capture a good picture of when coupled with the canyon breezes and the challenge of bracing my camera well with somewhat unstable footing. Once again, my botanical knowledge evades me. If anyone knows what this plant is, please leave me a comment.
