Fitz-y Details

Thank you to everyone for your kind words yesterday. I'm trying to respond to everyone who left a comment personally, but it's taking me a little while. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts.

I'm trying to bring a couple of my bigger projects to completion. The first being Fitzgerald.

The Front of Fitzgerald Finished

Yeah, I know, just another big piece of fabric. But when it comes to man sweaters, that seems to be how they run. I've also finished some of the assembly and knitted on the collar.

The Collar and Neckline Detail

Unfortunately, the little garter stitch edging doesn't show up very well, but it does make for a nice, masculine neckline. I'm going to have to block the edges to be a bit straighter, just to make the finished product look a little more sophisticated.

Tomorrow... the finished piece.

I want to be half as knitting productive as you. It looks good!

gorgeous, I wish my husband would wear something like that.

I'm working on Fitz for my boyfriend. Nice to see yours so close to finished. I only have a sleeve done so far. I'm not complaining, though. I just started it on Thursday. I hope the rest goes as quickly.

heya! i have yet to pick up the stitches and do the neck yet, I altered the pattern to fit me so its several inches smaller. I have never even done a collar before anways, can I just sorta like, pick up however many stitches I please at an even spacing and have it work good?? Any advice would be great, I have never done it before and of course i altered the pattern so I can't even follow the directions..

Your manly man sweater is turning out so great - the colors are fantastically masculine. I really like how the collar is turning out. Good luck with finishing the rest!

I'm with Steph. I wish my DH would wear something like that. He says he would, but I know him better than that, and there is just no way I'm going to invest that kind of time on a back-of-the-closet dust catcher! I knit for my brother instead.

What beautiful yarn & love the colorway. I can't wait to see this one done. Surely he will love this sweater!

Aw, Theresa - lovely job on this. I think I might be able to pursuade my manfolk to wear this many colors only under threat of freezing to death (very possible here in MN, but still). I know you've made many beautiful and complex projects, but I have just fallen under the spell of Noro recently and the colors - wow! Tres beaux.

Wow! and you got him to model also! What a guy! I had the same issue of a little too floppy at the bottom on a sweater I knit for my honey (also in Shinano). Next time I'm either going to do ribs on the side or taper it.
