Tired of Pink Yet?

I like raglans. Putting them together is like assembling a simple puzzle. Match edge to edge and away you go. Unlike a set-in sleeve, there's no guesswork as to how the edges line up.
It's not visible in the picture, but I made one small change -- I added a selvedge stitch to either edge of the back so as to make the seaming process a little easier when I get to that point.
You might wonder why I am blocking a ribbed sweater piece. After all, blocking ribbing is supposed to be something of a no-no. But the fabric of the sweater seems quite loose and drapey in the picture, so in order to help even out some of my not so pretty ribbing stitches and to try to achieve that drapey quality, blocking has occurred. Also, Phildar doesn't include much need for stretching your ribbing to get gauge in their stitch gauge -- they tell you how many stitches/inch without any stretching required. And so this piece is hardly stretched at all to meet the measurements it needs to be at.

You may have seen Marta, who blogs from Germany, before if you've been following the Audrey knit-a-long at all (which is how I first "met" her). She's an Audrey finisher and also just finished a lovely version of the Rebecca wrap cardigan. I'm looking forward to see her London Calling come to fruition!
P.S. to my wonderful Dad -- Happy Birthday!!!

I NEVER get tired of pink!
What do use as a blocking board? In the photo I see what appears to be a cutting mat. If that's what it is, how do you pin the pieces into the plastic.
P.S.: Can I still join the Audrey KAL? I have the yarn (purple) and pattern and am ready to start.
> After all, blocking ribbing is supposed to be something of a no-no.
It *is*? Why did no one tell me this? *laugh* :)
The last sweater I made was essentially a k4p4 rib. If I hadn't blocked it, it would cling to every single curve (including the ones I don't want clung to), sooooo... :)
The question is: Are you tired of pink yet?
Tired of PINK? You're crazy. It's like pinkapalooza around here. Everything I own I have in pink (that's actually less of an exaggeration than it sounds). So, do we have an estimated date of completion? Or is it too soon to tell? :)
Even if I am not commenting very often in the last time, you know I always read you. And - what a surprise to found MY NAME on your blog!!!! Thank you!
Long time lurker here: I was grabbing some yarn last night for a quick MDS&W tank and this is *almost* the color I grabbed (at least on my monitor). I ultimately opted for a sagey green, but I couldn't figure out why I was so drawn to the deep pink (I don't know my "season" but it doesn't include pink AT ALL)... then I surfed by and realized that it was your Eponge that had wormed into my brain!
It is looking fantastic, will you wear it to the fest?
Looking great!
btw - I think you have a broken italics link after the 'happy birthday' note on your post...everything else is getting italicized! (though it does look kind of nice!)
Oh, I wish all patterns would be written for gauge when not stretched...On cable and ribbing patterns, I always struggle as to whether I really have gauge, and whether it counts if I have to stretch a little to get gauge. :)
It's lookin' good! Can't wait to see all that lovely pink assembled into a gorgeous sweater. I'm very fond of raglans too, because of how much easier it makes seaming. Have fun!
Enjoyed your "around the world" post. I'm going to have to do that, too. It's facinating to see the worldwide connections. I'm always amazed at how maany people come to my bolg though Google in different countries.

I know this is not the appropriate place for this, but I don't have a blog and need to share this with someone who would appreciate it (when I told my husband, he stared at me like I was crazy and didn't even grin): I saw a pickup truck today with a business sign on the door that read: "Mobile Yarn Delivery, For Knitting Emergencies". How great is that!?! Unfortunately, I was unable to get the phone number without causing a traffic incident.
p.s. Everytime I see the word "Eponge" I want to squeeze your sweater. It looks great!
