Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

| | Comments (17)

I went and finally did something that I should have done a long time ago and have pushed myself solidly into "world in flux" mode. It seems that most of the major leaps of faith that I have taken in life depend mostly on having some faith in myself. This one is no different.

As I pull my world back into the kind of order I want it to have, I'll be knitting and spinning for sure, but perhaps not as regularly as I would like. Or perhaps more. It's just not clear. And that's all good. I'm one of those people who normally likes to surround herself with order, who likes to have a plan. But I often make my biggest leaps forward when I set the plan aside and get beyond my own box.

And right now it's time to rip off the lid.

Good for you!

Nainokami is one of my favorite characters . . . a kami worshipped after disastrous earthquakes.

Why not?!

Our boxes get very orderly and comfortable, I know. Stepping out into something new or larger is intimidating. Good for you, Theresa. You will order your new growth and it too will become comfortable.

God bless you.

Your knitting is beautiful and your site is very helpful to me. I hope you will have enough time to keep blogging :-)

Well, well, well. I can use my imagination to get what you are leaping around about.

Good luck, I'd love to hear more. And thank heavens for stash.

You go kiddo! Be bold! I love it. Rip that lid woman! Rip it!

Yep, I'm with Emma. No idea exactly what you'e talking about, but good luck with whatever new steps you are taking. Change is always difficult, but once you step out on faith (religious, or in yourself), you will be amazed at what you can do.

After recently taking a leap of faith and jumping out of my confort zone and into a job that pays more and requires me to work less, yet is still challenging and not mind numbing (and actually having it meet my expectations) I am a big supporter of change. Go for it!

Change! I absolutely adore it...as long as it is my idea, on my timeline and I get something really cool out of it. I absolutely hate it....when it is not my plan, timeline and I get to adapt to a new form of happiness.

But I must say, it has always worked to my benefit either way. I guess happiness is truely a state of mind and not a place we need things to arrive at.

Best wishes, Molly

I'm all for lid-ripping. It's frightening but it's worth it. Good luck!

Good luck and all the best as you leap into the fire.

You're so stealth - I have no idea what you are talking about.

But good luck! (And keep knitting - you know I love your blog!)

Oh boy, more change! Are you moving to a completely different environment like Ellen (Cityknitter)? Are you shucking the job and opening a yarn shop? Are you leaving Chicago and moving to Lansing so you can have fun with all of us here? Whatever it is, change is in the wind these days, and it's almost always good, so let's have it on!

Coming out of lurkerdom to send encouragement.

Good luck with your envelope-pushing. BTDT, got the t-shirt (I'm on my third career--*grin*). What helps me is thinking about (and watching) the squirrels travel from tree to tree. They don't hedge or equivocate. They just leap out into the air from one branch, land on another branch, and keep right on going. I figure if they can do that with such seemingly carefree abandon, then it won't hurt me to "leap" to my new "branch".

Sending good vibes and karma to you in your changes.
:)
