A Borrowed Romeo**

*For a closer look at those two fabrics on the left end and why they had to come home with me, click here.

** A Husqvarna Romeo, that is. My mother's "travelling" sewing machine. Her other Husqy would be comparable to this one if she bought it today. And then there's the Huskylock. Mom has excellent taste in sewing machines.

Woo hoo! I'm looking forward to seeing some sewing going on here. That quilt is going to be a beaut.

Oh, that is too cool that fabric!

Ah! Fabric with balls of yarn on it. It just doesn't get any better than that. Can't wait to see what that fabric becomes.

Better start clearing a closet for the fabric stash. Fat quarters, scraps from friends' sewing projects, remnants from the sale bin... It adds up quickly!

Sato has some wonderful books. My dd and I have sewn many variations of her origami quilts and her omiyage bags.

Do you have a really good iron? It makes all the difference.

I have 2 Husqvarnas and agree that they are THE best sewing machines. Have fun!

Not all the fabric is for the same project. The two on the right end are what I am playing with first. The yarn ball fabric does not have a clear destiny yet.

I learned the value of a good iron this weekend as well. I'll talk about a few of the tips my mother gave me towards creating successful sewing experiences, and they definitely involve doing some ironing.

I still have some trepidation when it comes to sewing machines. Not sure why, but they make me a little bit nervous. But I had fun with Romeo, who seems to like to sew in a straight line.

As to stashing... well, I'm going to have to be careful with the fabric stash. I have a healthy yarn and fiber stash right now, and my house is not spontaneously growing any new closets...

Puzzle quilts resembles the stack and whack idea. When I owned a quit I taught a lot of those stack and whack classes. I love how you really never know what you'll come up with until the block is finished. Looks like fun!

That is definitely *not* a sheep! (I hadn't had my coffee yet.) I love the yarn fabric -- I haven't seen that one before. Fun fun!

Wow! Balls of yarn fabric! Do you know who the designer is? Are you willing to tell? Please? I'm knitting/felting a tote bag and This would be perfect for a lining with pockets.
Thanks!
