All of Serenity's Squares

I think it's fair to say that Romeo and I got along well today. Maybe this whole sewing machine using thing isn't so bad after all....

I'm usually not a fan of quilts, but this is gorgeous. Love the colours!

That's so awesome. Good job!

And don't forget - it's faster than knitting, too.

Gorgeous! I just love those blues and greens. It's been so fun watching you put these together.

I love the interplay of colors in your squares. Would you show a close up of the square that is diagonally down and right of the top left? I am interested in the contrast.

Sewing can be awesome. If you understand how the sewing machine and sergers form the stitchs it takes a lot of the mystery and terror out of sewing.

I love it. I want to learn to quilt (I need another hobby like I need another hole in my head). Now if only I learned how to use my sewing machine!!

See, you've conquered the hardest part of any craft, IMO: the color arrangement. Hard enough in knitting, where there's [usually] not more than two or three to deal with. Quilting just terrifies me because trying to select and arrange (let alone cut) all the various fabrics… eeesh. That would paralyze me. You, on the other hand, now have an incredible display of color in all its hues and values. Brava.

Great work. I'm a mother with adult girls. I would be impressed if my girls would try this. A tip for a portable design wall. If you get a few yards of white flannel at the walmart, wash it up and then throw it over a door, or shower curtain rod or some other horizonal pole. You will find that your cotton blocks will magically stick and you will be able to move them around without pinning and re-pinning. There's enough fuzziness and static to the flannel hold them up. It's Magic.

I love it! The colors are so soothing - like the colors of water. Very spa. How are you going to quilt it? Will there be a border?

Awesome job! It really is a striking pattern.

You are doing a wonderful job! I can't wait to hear how you do with the 'quilting' of the top. I like doing piece work, but fought with that part and was too poor to have someone else do it!

You should be proud, the colors are beautiful. :)

This is looking really nice! I tried quilting many years ago but all of those little squares seemed too fiddly at the time. I might have to give it another try one of these days.

Just gorgeous!!! I want to do this quilt block too - how much fabric did your project require?
I can't wait to see what you do with these blocks - keep us posted please!
