Low Energy

| | Comments (14)

Sigh.

I find myself at a place where my energy is low and I don't have a lot to say. I am definitely working on things:

  • I have started the last log cabin square for my baby blanket.
  • I have made some more progress spinning the moorit CVM
  • I have found an layouf for my quilt squares that I like and have started sewing them together.
  • I'm working on a sock in Regia Silk
  • I have engaged in some retail therapy and have some nice yarn and fiber to show off

What I have not done is been able to take pictures of any of the potentially interesting things in good light. I've also been feeling spectacularly unmotivated. I don't know if it's the weather or just the time of the year or the phase of the moon, but mostly what I want to do right now is vegetate. Well, that's not entirely true, I would love to be quilting, but it's late and that would require going downstairs, so I am saving that for tomorrow when I have a day off and can dedicate the entire day to it and can enjoy the natural light in my dining room.

I also wanted to say an extra thank you to everyone who has left nice comments about my quilt or my baby blanket. It's always an honor to inspire people and to be the beneficiary of encouraging comments. Hopefully in the days to come, I'll get past my doldrums and have a few more things to do show and tell on!

You get an awful lot done for being in a vegetative state! :)

Take time to relax a bit. It's important to do now and then. There's no requirement that we be going and doing and being productive 100 percent of the time. The mind and spirit need recharging time just as much as the body does. :)

My sympathy...I've been on the low-energy track for the whole month of February. Speaking of inspiration, I have a lot of ambivalance toward my sewing machine too, but your Serenity quilt is making me rethink it. Beautiful!

You're very productive for being low in energy!

I think most of us feel like that now at the end of the winter, but before any signs of spring start to show (at least not in my part of the world).
Enjoy your day off!

I predict that your day off today will be just the thing to motivate you again!

Seems to be the state across blogland this morning. Maybe we'll all get the March blahs over with early

chin up, lady. embrace the low days! they are there to keep us from burning out from our otherwise hectic lives and to make us feel good on the days we are productive.

the pressure to feel productive comes from within, which makes managing it that much more challenging, unfortunately. no one else worries about how much we don't get done, so why should we?

i do think the weather & time of year plays some part in the desire to hibernate/vegetate, as well. i could quite happily veg out in my pj's for the foreseeable future, or at least til this blizzard passes.

Or maybe Vicodin IS the answer. I certainly always smile at the subject lines in my junk folder.

It's March, you live in Chicago which is not known for its sunny skies this time of year. Take some time to recharge or plan pretty flower containers for the warm weather. Is there a botanic garden or zoo which has a warm humid display of tropical-ness to remind you of Hawaii?

It's the time of year. I think many of us are feeling it. I just want it to be spring and feel stuck in winter!

It seems that low-energy vibe is making its rounds. I just hope it passes as quickly as it seems to have come. Unfortunately I can't really blame winter for my low-energy and I wish I could get as much done as you seem to have been doing!

I have been admiring your baby blanket since you started it. It is so pretty, I cant wait to see it done. Maybe finishing it and putting a picture up so I can drool over it will make you feel better :)

Rabbit rabbit rabbit!

I've been feeling the same blah doldrums as you lately. It's a new month - time for some new inspiration for both of us!

(PS I like how the color combination is turning out in the log cabin blanket.)

I have always found after a quiet moment (or two) of low energy that inspiration returns with enthusiasm. I finally realized that the recharge time was necessary.

In the meantime I just work on stuff that doesn't require great mental effort. That way I don't feel like I'm wasting my time.
