Rocking Sheep
Don't you think every nursery needs a Rocking Sheep?
Link via Aparatment Therapy: the nursery
one of my favorite baby design blogs.
I thought the same.....until kiddos became old enough to ride together (get hurt), fight over it (get hurt), pinch their toes under it while one is riding it (get hurt). Well wait, this happens with most toys....
That's way better than the rocking tiger I saw when we were decorating my daughter's nursery. Of course, all that fluff will look just lovely after it's had a sticky cheerio covered child clinging to it.
Speaking of my cheerio monster, I'd better go rescue the cats.
That would be such a cuddly ride.
I couldn't afford it at the time, but friends told me when my babies were born that laying them to sleep on a lambskin helps protect against SIDS. I didn't know much about wool at the time, but now I think that it would be a most comfortable way to sleep.
We had a bear with a pull chain to make him growl..kids loved him and his fur but he was on wheels not rockers. I think I like the wheels better..it was fun..they are 40 up and we still have the bear
Absolutely YES!
I want! I want!
How cute! One of my local yarn shops has a rocking sheep in it. My daughter loved it. She still does and she's 8 now but at least she no longer tries to ride it.
Hi... I haven't stopped by your site in quite a while... I was so happy to see that you were expecting!! Congrats!
I had a rocking sheep as a baby, made for me by a friend of my Mum. It was WAYYYY cooler than the same ol same ol' rocking horse in every other nursery.
Love it!
As a kid, my grandmother used to put lambskins in our beds in the wintertime until we were about ten or so. Always loved that first visit on the autumn when it was time for the lambskin season again. In Norway, babies take their naps outdoors all year round, sleeping on lambskins in their prams.
That is too cute!
I had a rocking duck when I was a kid. The rockers were blue waves.
The most wonderful thing? My mom made it for me. Hmmm... gotta get that back from her before my kids are too old for it...
Just too cute!! I can see a whole room done in "Bo Peep" for a little girl or in "baa baa black sheep" for a little boy.
Our little dog loves to sleep on our sheepskin rug next to the bed. In winter it keeps him warm and (they say) in summer it keeps him cool. No sheep were harmed to make the rug. The sheep died of natural causes after a swanky life as a pet.
B-a-a-ht, of course! The Rocking Sheep is totally adorable.
