Still Life with Small Sock

I didn't really need to start another project, but I've been jonesing to start a new pair of socks. Since I haven't finished my last pair, I couldn't justify starting a new pair for myself, but I could justify starting a small pair for a certain someone. There's a little chill in the air and baby socks mean that I can not only stash bust, but stash bust from my sock yarn remnants, of which there are many.

How sweet are baby feet when they are 3.5" long and 3.5" around at their widest point? So sweet the baby feet.

Ah, baby socks are so gratifying to knit and so sweet. While I have seen cute baby booties, it seems like the baby socks work out better. I have plans to knit a bunch of these.

Baby socks are the best way to use the remnants! I just started ones for a friend's new son (4 days old today).

Nice to get a glimpse of your Baby's sleep chart. I think I would keep something like that just for the fun of it, trying to look organized. But I think _you_ really are an organized person. :)

What a great use of sock-yarn remnants! I guess I'll just have to save all mine up for whenever that time comes.

I decided a few months ago that the best part about summer were all the naked baby feet you see everywhere. And baby socks - so cute!

Good luck getting them to stay on! My short person won't even keep on hand knit Koigu socks! Off they come, and get chewed on, shoved under the sofa, and stashed in places I have yet to find.... Expect this to start happening mid-winter. ;)

The only thing that could be cuter than baby feet (especially your own baby's feet) must be a cute little baby sock! Awwwww.

My family knows I have a serious baby-piggie fetish. There's just something about chubby little feet!! :)

Nothing cuter than baby feet, unless it is baby feet in handknit self-striping socks!

Awwww, cute little sockie. My daughter's feet are already pretty big (larger than normal for her age I think). So knitting socks for her is now almost as time consuming as knitting them for me. And will be by the time I actually get some finished considering the rate I knit them at.

LOVE baby feet! I loved taking close ups of naked baby feet and hands. Sad though, that my own kids only once or twice wore handknit socks! A lace pair, and a pair of 'work socks' done in the traditional grey, white and red. Everyone loves those. I keep meaning to make some more...but they grow just too darn fast. I can't wait to be a grandma! LOL. My oldest is 7!

I just love baby feet. So soft and fat with such kissable toes. I like to hold a little foot and imagine all the places it will go.

Thank you! You just answered a current question of mine. I've knit the first sock from Anne Budds better than booties baby sock pattern. I wasn't sure what size baby it would fit - and the sock will fit baby z's feet. Very fast and satisfying knitting, and no seaming (unlike the booties I have knit).
