My dear, sweet baby girl is closing in fast on her 2nd birthday -- only three months left to go. I think I would put everyone to sleep with another picture of an unfinished Lotus sleeve, so instead I'm going to be random, at least within the theme of what my 21 month old is up to.

- Ms. Z's favorite book (and YouTube video) is Green Eggs and Ham. She now tells us, appropos of nothing at all "I do not like you Sam I Am".
- She has developed some strange irrational fears. Like umbrellas. Open one near her and she will devolve into an instant panic and refuse to go wherever the umbrella was until it is clear that it is no longer around.
- She loves YouTube and has pretty much mastered basic iPhone operations. Whenever she doesn't like what we're watching or playing she dismissively says "Different one! Want different one! I want to do that one!" and has been known to say "No more email, Momma!"
- If she likes clothes, she will happily try them on. If she doesn't she will squirm and twist like an oiled piglet until she gets away. She's still very fond of shoes -- a new pair of pink sandals had to be shown to everyone. And Hallowe'en is going to be her favorite holiday. Whenever the orange and black Hallowe'en shirts that her grandma gave her are clean, they must be worn. "Pumpkin shirt, Mamma! Pumpkin socks!"
- She likes coffee and chocolate -- clearly her parents have been an influence on her. Recently I took her to the Intelligentsia (coffee shop) down town and ordered myself a latte and her a chocolate steamer. She sat quite sweetly in her chair. "Hot chocolate, Mamma!" and drank her drink -- you would have thought she was a regular. of course, I didn't get out of letting her have a taste of mine.

The pictures come from a recent "photo shoot" where I was just playing with my fast 50 mm lens. I'm certainly biased, but I think these are some of the best pictures I've ever taken of her, and I think she has absolutely beautiful facial structure. And it goes without saying that she can break my heart with those blue eyes in a heart beat.

I agree with you. She looks completely adorable in those pictures.
You're right! She is a beauty, and I am not even prejudiced, as a mother might be. Lovely baby, lovely pictures.
you're daughter is absolutely stunning. wish i was half as beautiful :)
ok, apparently i'm braindead; "your daughter is"
Fabulous babe, excellent lens, and inspired photographer yield spectacular pictures. Keep up the good work on all fronts!
Those ARE wonderful pictures. I see a little girl, not a baby. Really like seeing her grow up in your blog.
Good luck when that lovely hits 16, boys will be all over. I suggest lots of chores.
She is a gorgeous little girl. I don't think you are showing any bias at all!
She is beautiful. And getting ready for the "terrible two's". No Mamma, No!
I was just thinking as I read your post that Z is starting to look more like a little girl & less like a toddler. Thanks for the updates - I've enjoyed watching her progress.
She is a darling! Mine is almost 1 and I'm amazed when he hands me a book (very emphatically) and gestures to get into my lap!
Great photos. Miss Z sure is a cutie! Isn't it wonderful watching your child grow and develop, especially as their language skills and reasoning just blossom?!
Beautiful girl and wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing the update. It's an amzaing time, isn't it?
Those pictures are lovely. Nicely done! And how surprising that your kid is opinionated? ;-) The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.....
Wonderful photos, I love my 50mm lens, makes me want to go out and get all fixed focal length lens's!
Wonderful, lovely, BEAUTIFUL little girl.
What a dear, dear child. Thanks for sharing her - even a little bit - with us.
What a precious little girl. My daughter is 19 months old and I must say that this age is so delightful as they really start showing their personalities and become little children. It's lovely to see you take the same kind of joy in your daughter as I do in mine.
What a gorgeous baby! There is nothing more exciting than spending a lot of time with a child during the first 2 years of life. They go from this little helpless lump that can only make their needs known through wailing to actual little people who can walk & talk & tell you exactly what they want (which can be a mixed blessing!) My youngest grandchild (& the only girl) is about 9 months older than your baby & I spent a lot of time with her during the first 2 years because they lived in Naperville & her father was away a lot of the time - traveling for work - so I spent a lot of time at their house so my daughter would at least have some adult company. So baby M became a real Grandma's girl. We spent 10 days visiting the end of March &, within a week of our return, she was asking Mommy when is Grandma coming back. She recently decided to start using the potty. So as I did with her brothers, I bought her big girl underpants (Nordstrom is great about sending stuff - they wrap it up very nicely) & came home a couple of days later to a message on the answering machine "I love my underpants & Monkey (also sent a cute little stuffed monkey.) We're saving it so we can just listen to it!
You are so right -- she is beautiful and those are some great pictures.
Baby Z is beautiful, and you're right -- these pictures are gorgeous -- the quality of light is "just right". It helps to have such an adorable model.
