My own version of a photo essay documenting the finishing of the Zebra Striper Sweater.

Neckband StartThis is actually going a bit faster than I expected it to. After I complete the knitting for the neckband and sew down the facing edge, then only the two front edges remain before button shopping can occur in earnest. I do like all the clean edges in this little sweater, even if getting the setting in of the sleeve started is a little bit fussy. Fussy or not, though, it's nice to watch this turn from a shapeless sack into a boxy little sweater. I am still convinced that they must grow Norwegian babies larger than they do over here, but at least that guarantees more than a few months of wear!
Thank you all for the the comments about the little socks. I highly recommend the knitting of little socks for instant gratification knitting!

That surely is some fine finishing!
Wow! What a beautiful job. I'm impresed!
This looks really great. I love seeing the steps out like this.
Hi. I use Bloglines to access blogs and love it that now I don't have to click over to read yours. But I have to click over anyway to look at the photos. Who would want to miss photos of beautiful sweaters and cute little Zosia? Not I. I can access the photos when I use my cellphone to read Bloglines, but not on my computer. Is that fix-able on your end? I use Mozilla Firefox, in case that matters.
The sweater is great. I love the colors!
Unfortunately, I think this has something to do with the network your computer is on versus the network your phone is on. I find that with my blog reader (google reader) I can see my images at home (where my internet provider is AT&T) while I can't at work (where we have a different ISP. I don't know if this is due to the firewall we use at work or whether something the ISP is doing.
I am not sure why this problem arises... it could be because of the tags that movable type wraps around images. I've been trying to find a way to make this work better, but I haven't been successful with it yet.
Such a beautiful sweater. Hoping you do get extra months of wear!
I have the same problem using Google Reader. I USED to be able to see your photos from there, but now I can't. I don't think it has anything to do with a network because I see everyone else's blog photos via Google Reader just fine.
And I'm glad I clicked over to see photos of the zebra sweater. It's beautiful!
I don't really know what to say -- I can see my pictures in google reader from home. I can see other people's pictures as well. I suspect that there are some security settings on people's browsers or in their networks that don't like something about what MT is doing with the images.
I have a similar problem with the Yarn Harlots images -- I can see them on my browser at home, but not at work. And I don't think she is using the same content management software I am.
Are you following my RSD feed or my atom feed?
I think it's because they anticipate using these sweaters as coats, and so having at least a shirt and possible another plain sweater underneath is necessary. I know that I used Lucy's stranded sweaters as coats in Vermont all year last year; I only gave in and bought a parka this year because she's old enough now to go out and play in the snow, and parkas are good for that.
Your sweater is just beautiful. My daughter is four and I thought about that design a while ago and decided it was just a little too much. But your work is Beautiful! Congrats! Very Inspiring!
